TCI Participated as Exhibitor at the Make In India Week
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Make In India Week saw a grand inaugural function at Mumbai from 13th - 18th February, 2016 announcing the initiation of the Make in India to encourage the world to use the nation as a global production hub. Over the week, about 1,000 CEOs and 4,000 delegates representing 2,000 overseas firms were in Mumbai at a glitzy event to showcase Make in India, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented as the biggest brand to emerge from the country. TCI participated at the Make In India Week as an exhibitor where Ms. Pritomsreeta, Mr. Himanshu, and Mr. Praveen Melge were present at the table space. TCI Foundation participated at Auto EXPO 2016
TCI Foundation, the social wing of Transport Corporation of India Limited (TCI), participated in the recently concluded Auto-Expo 2016, held at Grater Noida from 3 - 9 February 2016. The Foundation was privileged to associate with society for Indian Automobile Manufactures (SIAM) to stage the Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) at the mega event. The Foundation exhibited its theme based booth in Auto Expo to disseminate HIV/AIDS control awareness amongst the driver community and public at large. The initiative taken by TCI Foundation was highly applauded by the leaders of Automobile industry. It is worthy to mention that TCI Foundation was instrumental in developing HIV/AIDS control program exclusively for truckers in India. The Foundation also developed the concept of Khushi Clinic to render the medical services to the truck drivers, helpers & others associated with this profession. The program was over whelmed by Government of India and was transformed to National Program. TCI Foundation has current presence across 24 locations in 12 states of India with support from Government, PSU’s and Corporate of repute. Commenting on the initiatives, Mr. D. P. Agarwal, VCMD, TCI said; “TCI Foundation has been a contributor in changing the social environment of the country. The Auto- Expo attracts a diverse mélange of brands as well as renowned industry personalities; thus, giving us a great opportunity to showcase our work before the leaders of the Industry. TCI Freight won 2 Accolades during Idemitsu Parnter's Meet 2016
Idemitsu Kosan Co. Ltd. is a Fortune 500 Japanese petroleum company which owns and operates oil platforms, refineries and produces and sells petroleum, oils and petrochemical products. They are the second largest petroleum refiner in Japan. A Partner's Meet was organized on 21st January, 2016 held at Mumbai by Idemitsu where they recognized contribution of various company in different fields. TCI Freight won two awards namely: 1) Best Primary Transportation Service Provider Award 2) Best Supervisor in Primary Transportation Award - Mr. Om Prakash, Assistant, TCI Freight (Rasayani Branch) Mr. O. P. Vaishnav, VP, TCI Freight, Mr. Jai Kishore, Officer & KAM, Idemitsu, Mr. Om Prakash, Assistant, TCI Freight (Rasayani Branch) and Mr. Prokash Roy, Assistant Manager, Group BD, TCI attended the Summit. Mr. Roy also made a presentation during the Meet.

TCI CONCOR Won 2nd Prize at CONCOR Customer Meet held at Nagpur
Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR) had organized a Customer Meet on 16th January, 2016 at The Pride Continental, Wardha Road, Nagpur. The event was attended by the representatives of importers, exporters, Custom House Agents, logistics players, freight forwarders, shipping lines and their agents, railway officials and Customs officers. TCI CONCOR won a second prize in the “Highest Traffic Movement in Domestic Business” category. Mr. Mukesh Srivastava, Manager, TCI CONCOR (Kolkata) on behalf of the company received the award.

TCI Ranked 37 by World HRD Congress in a Programme held at Mumbai
TCI ranked 37 in Dream companies to work for by World HRD Congress in a programme held in Mumbai on 16th Feb. Jury consisting of Independent HR professionals assessed all nominations based on uniqueness in HR policy and practices including anonymous feedback from existing and ex-employees. Deloitte was consulting on the selection process. More than 400 organizations participated in the survey out of which top 50 were presented citation in a grand ceremony held in Taj Landends. Mr. Nitin Gadkari presided over the function.

TCI Foundation won Global CSR Excellence and Leadership Award organized by ABP New Channel in Mumbai.
TCI Foundation has been awarded Global CSR Excellence and Leadership Award by ABP News in the category of “Concern for Health” at a ceremony in Hotel Taj at Mumbai on 17th February, 2016 coinciding with the World CSR Day being celebrated every year on February 17. TCI Foundation was the sole winner in this category. The Global CSR Excellence and Leadership Awards recognize outstanding achievements in economic, environmental and social dimensions by identifying and rewarding exemplary organizations in various aspects of Corporate Social Responsibility. Shri D.P. Auto Monitor is the only newsmagazine that offers the complete information about happenings in the autoworld in India and abroad. With most of the major players already present in India, the magazine provides a platform for the buyers and sellers who can now consider showcasing their products & services in the subcontinent. TCI participated in the Asia's single most important global platform to promote world-class retail practices, Asia Retail Congress 2016 held at Taj Lands End, Mumbai from 19th- 20th February, 2016. The focus of the two day Asia Retail congress was to discuss and influence the issues for change. Yet another amazing contest was held on Twitter by TCI around the time of Republic Day. The contest was held from 26th to 29th January, 2016 during which multiple questions related to the monuments that were important during the freedom struggles were displayed for contestants to guess. People eagerly participated in the contest in huge number out of which 3 contestants were selected as winners. TCI wished all its customers and followers a Happy Republic Day with an attractive banner.

TCI Foundation celebrated World AIDS Day across 23 offices on Pan India Level
TCI Foundation in association with various State AIDS Control Societies and corporate partners across India celebrated World AIDS Day in the first week of December. World AIDS Day was celebrated at locations namely: Bhiwandi, Vashi, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Pathankot, Rudrapur, Haridwar, Jalgaon, Ludhiana, Pata, Pathankot, Kanpur, Raipur and Satara. Awareness rallies were also organized at all locations. Approximately 1000 truckers participated in the events across all the locations. The participants of the events were provided with the information on safe sexual behavior and prevention of HIV infection. Multi-specialty health camps were organized to commemorate the occasion and the participants were provided with clinical services. The services included Dental, Asthma, HIV Testing, Sugar Testing, STI and General Treatment. Health Games were included in the programmes to enhance the involvement of trucker community including transporters/brokers. World AIDS Day was also observed at the corporate office through vibrant events in presence of Mr. Vineet Agarwal, MD, TCI & Mr. Chander Agarwal, JMD, TCI. Awareness Rally was also organized at TCI Foundation Head Office and was flagged off by Mr. Vineet Agarwal and Mr. Chander Agarwal. Educational materials related to the HIV was distributed amongst the attendees.

TCI participated in the Interactive Session with the Hon'ble Finance Minister on 'GST in India'
Mr. Vineet Agarwal, Managing Director, Transport Corporation of India Ltd. represented the company in the interactive session with the Hon'ble Minister of Finance, Mr. Arun Jaitely on GST In India held on 16th December, 2015 at Hotel New Ashoka, New Delhi. During the session Mr. Agarwal covered issues related to the Good & Service Tax (GST) and how it will have a positive effect on the nation as a whole. According to him, “Since GST will have digitized check posts where information will flow before goods, it will help to improve speed & efficiency. It will create a hub & spoke system for seamless multi modal movement; here I may add that this is the first time in decades that there is a single ministry for road and transport and shipping giving a clear intent to move to a multimodal transport network.”

TCI participated in 4th Young Leader's Retreat 2015 Organized by AIMA
All India Management Institution (AIMA) organized the 4th Young Leaders Retreat from 28-30 November, 2015 at Vivanta by Taj, Fort Aguada, Goa, with the theme 'Leading in a Fast Changing World'. The objective of the event was to create a vision for today's young managers, who are poised to become tomorrow's leaders. The Retreat was organized under the Chairmanship of Mr. Sanjeev Bikhchandani, Founder and Executive Vice Chairman Naukri.com and Mr. Vineet Agarwal, Managing Director, Transport Corporation of India Ltd. Mr. Agarwal shared some key points from his personal experience and understanding of how to lead in a fast changing world and achieve success. From TCI Group Mr. Atul Endlay & Mr. B.B Giri were the participants. The retreat focused on having a healthy debate on the traits and competencies required to equip leaders for the challenges that face them in the future. Many team building exercises were also carried out.

TCI XPS organized Lakshya – Leadership Development Program for the Team at Jim Corbett
TCI XPS has organized the Leadership Development Program called 'Lakshya' from 6-8th December, 2015 at Jim Corbett National Park. A team of 21 members of TCI XPS attended the program. The focus was mainly on the business growth plans and what measures should be taken. Program also concentrated on how major and minor issues can be solved using the business development plan. The sole purpose for organizing the activity was team growth and motivation. Mr. Chander Agarwal, JMD, TCI and Mr. P. C. Sharma, President & CEO, TCI XPS also participated in the program. Professional Trainers were assigned for the program who after individually interacting with the team customized the program according to the individual needs while focusing on the strengths of the individual and came up with solution that will enhance their skills in future. The team participated in the program with full energy and concentration where they learnt multiple ways to face or overcome the structural, process driven or operational challenges. Various activities such as psychometric test, trekking and number of games were also organized for the team in order to make the program highly interactive. Lakshya provided a good platform for the team member to improve their skills and provided the opportunity for all them to interact informally with each other. As a result, this gave them the opportunity to openly share ideas for the improvement of the various processes to make work easier and convenient.

4th Annual Chennai Retail Summit was held at Hyatt Regency, Chennai on 25th November, 2015. Organized by Retailers Association of India(RAI), the summit concentrated on developing the expertise and resources required to transform the typical interaction channels with the customers in order to improve the customer experiences. Various topics were discussed during the summit that dealt with the improvement in Retail Sector and related experiences. Seven customer meets were organized at different locations during the month of October and November, 2015 at Delhi/Noida, Coimbatore, Patna, Vijayawada, Thane/Mumbai, Bangalore, and Rudrapur. Noida/Delhi: The meet was organized at Hotel Holiday Inn, total 266 customers attended the meet. Mr. Ajit Singh, CEO, TCI CONCOR addressed the meet and interacted with the customers. Coimbatore: The meet was organized at The Hotel Clarian Inn, total 239 customers attended the meet. Mr. I.S. Sigar, CEO, TCI Freight addressed the meet and interacted with the customers. Patna: The meet was organized at the hotel Patliputra Exotica, total 131 customers attended the same. Mr.P.C. Sharma, CEO, TCI XPS addressed the meet and interacted with the customers. Q2 Notes Profit for TCI
The second Quarter result turned out in favor of TCI. Transport Corporation of India (TCI), reported a decent growth in net profit for the quarter ended in September, 2015. The result came on 28th October, 2015 and was covered by various newspapers.

Digital Diwali Celebration @ TCI
With each Diwali and the lights that illuminate our homes and hearts, that this simple truth finds new reason and hope. This year, TCI celebrated Diwali the digital way. There was a competition announced at TCI's Twitter handle where people were asked to participate and win amazing prizes. The main purpose of this contest was to attract the page traffic. The contest was named as Various graphically rich images were used to make the competition even more interesting and get the people in the groove for the festival. Many interesting answers were received from the contestants out of which 3 winners were selected. People participated with whole heart making Diwali bigger and brighter. On the day of Diwali vivid greetings were posted on various platforms to wish all the followers and customers of a very happy and prosperous Diwali.

TCIF conducted various health related activities through its Multispecialty Health Camps on 15th October, 2015. Approximately 610 truck drivers and helpers were treated in the health camps held at the Khushi Clinics in Ludhiana, Bhiwandi, Gobindapur, Sikandra, Satara, and Kanpur.

HPCL CSR Head visited Gobindpur
This month a senior CSR Team of HPCL headed by Ms. Sonal Desai, General Manager-CSR, along with Shri Zakir Hossain Molla, Manager - CSR, and Ms. Sreedevi Kaul, Dy. Manager- CSR, visited ACC-Gobindapur on. 16th October, 2015. Shri Arunangsu Chowdhury, National Manager-TCIF was also present at the occasion. The team visited Suraksha Khushi Clinic of ACC-Gobindapur, understood from Coordinator, Counselor and doctors about the various activities carried out like. Activities such as general health checkup of truckers and local population, sending suspected HIV patient to nearest ICTC, setting camps near to the truck lay bay and schools etc. were highly appreciated. She handed over award for the Best Performer of Khushi Clinic, to Shri Avijit Paul. In her key note address Ms. Sonal Desai emphasized on team work and said' “talking is easy but making it reality is difficult and staffs of ACC-Gobindapur are turning speech into actions.”

TCI Supply Chain Solutions Won 2 Awards at 7th GIL Awards 2015, Organised by Frost & Sullivan, Mumbai
Frost & Sullivan India conducted 7th GIL Awards at the Taj Lands End, Mumbai. 3 Day Blood Donation Drive 2015
TCI organized a three day blood donation drive across the nation to commemorate the death anniversary of its founder Late Sh. P. D. Agarwal. The Gurgaon camp was organized in association with Jai Prakash Narayan Apex Trauma Center, AIIMS. A team of total 3 doctors and nurses at each camp contributed their services to the drive. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. D. P. Agarwal, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, TCI, highlighted the importance of donating blood to help save thousands of lives while urging people to come forward for this noble cause. He said, “TCI believes in giving back to the community it operates in. With an increasing number of dengue cases in India, we intend to replenish blood banks that play a critical role in saving lives by making blood available to the needy. I would like to thank all donors and volunteers who have joined us today in this noble cause.” TCI employees and people from nearby areas including auto drivers and office boys participated in the camps conducted at various locations. Blood was collected from donors who satisfied all preliminary tests, in cities like Gurgaon, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Chandigarh, etc. Donors were also given refreshments like tea, coffee and snacks afterwards along with a certificate of participation.

TCI SCS Participated in Containers India 2015
TCI SCS participated in Containers India 2015 conference in Mumbai on August 21, 2015. The conference was an initiative of Gateway Media. The conference served as an important annual gathering for stakeholders and organizations in container trade. The main agenda of the conference was to promote the exchange of ideas and experiences for increased containerization in India, to identify the gap areas in container supply chains and to support industry and the Government to prepare a roadmap for seamless movement of containers. Mr. Jasjit Sethi, Vice President and CEO, TCI Supply Chain was one of the speaker at the event.

JMD Visit to Cochin Port
Mr Chander Agarwal, Joint Managing Director, TCI visited Cochin on 19th May 2015. He boarded Vessel MV TCI Arjun at India Gateway Terminal Pvt Ltd (DP World, Cochin). He personally interacted with the Vessel Crews and asked them about their family and day to day problems they face. His conversation focused mainly on the Safety of the Crew and the Vessel. He also emphasized on regular checking of Bridge Equipments & Machinery, their function, maintenance, etc. He thanked Vessel Crew members for upkeep and maintenance of the Ship.

Opening of New TCI XPS Hub Center in Noida
TCI XPS inaugurated new Hub and Controlling office at Greater Noida on 15th June 2015. Hub Centre was inaugurated by Mr. Jaideep, AGM, New Holland Tractors and Controlling office was inaugurated by Mr. Ashok Kumar Bhatia, Spare Parts Division, India Yamaha at Greater Noida. Customers were also invited at the opening ceremony and a small get- together was organized to brief them about the new hub. The newly developed hub has 10,000 Sq Ft.of warehousing space with 2700 Sq. Ft. of Controlling office, a mess and offices of 3-4 branches merged within the office. The hub is equipped with latest technologies while keeping hygiene at high priority. Noida hub will facilitate to make fast deliveries by reducing one transshipment at Rewari,24 hours TAT and definitely cost also. By setting up Noida hub ,we now have a distribution system within UP and direct routes from Noida covering all major cities in India.

TCI SCS exhibited at the India Warehousing Show 2015 held at Pragati Maidan on 1st to 3rd July, 2015. The show was the med on “Creating a Competitive Warehousing Market in India”. The panel discussions were held on the topics like warehouse process improvements, business solutions and initiatives, supply chain challenges and solutions, cost risk considerations, sector focused customized solutions, challenges & developments for Air, Sea & Rail logistics, etc. The show was an ideal destination for the businesses targeting growing markets of India and south Asia.

AIMA's 7th Business Responsibility Summit 2015
AIMA organized 7th Business Responsibility Summit on 23rd June, 2015 at Sovereign 1, Hotel Le Meridian, New Delhi. The theme was “ Leveraging Business Responsibility - Towards a Sustainable Nation”. The Key Subject area discussed were Financial Empowerment, Rethinking Resource Management – Air, Water and Waste, Supply Chain Sustainabilit and Role of foundations in driving CSR in India – A panel discussion. Dr. Munish Chander, Head TCI Foundation and GM, TCIL was the panellist for the session. The session discussed about the importance of Foundations in helping companies to identify and align their CSR activities to their business practices, facilitate interactions with NGOs, universities and communities and also help gain visibility through communication and reporting. In the end session, prizes were given to 3 best presentations on CSR Practices “Commitment towards Responsible Business- Practical Cases with Tangible Benefits”

Mr. D.P. Agarwal, Chairman, TCI receives Lifetime Achievement Award
AMr. D.P. Agarwal, Chairman, TCI has been conferred with Lifetime Achievement Award on the eve of 4 Mahindra Transport th Excellence Awards ceremony held at Hotel Ashoka, New Delhi, on February 25. The prestigious award was presented by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport, Highways and Shipping and Mr. Anand Mahindra, Chairman and Managing Director, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. Transport sector over a sustained period. The award was based on nominations. Experts in the field of logistics and transport were solicited for nominations and selection was adjudged by an eminent jury, after which the grand jury was chaired by the Joint Secretary, Minister Of Road Transport and Highways, Mr. Sanjay Bandopadhyaya. Prominent transporters and dealers from different areas of transport ecosystem part-took in this major ceremony that pertains to the transport Industry as a whole. The award was received by Mr. Chander Agarwal, JMD, TCI on behalf of D.P. Agarwal. Speaking at the occasion he said, “We are happy to receive the Lifetime Achievement Mahindra Awards 2015. This recognition is an achievement in itself of our constant endeavor to consistently better our performance and add value to our customers’ needs.” In another category, TCI was the national winner in the Fleet owner Category under Mahindra Transport Excellence Awards 2014. TCI as the national winner in the Fleet Owner Category- Finished Metals for Driving Positive change. he award was presented by Mahindra Truck & Buses Limited (Supported by Ministry of Road ransport & Highways). The awards was received By Jasjit Sethi President & CEO TCI SCS. Mr. Jasjit Sethi was also a panelist in a one-hour panel discussion which was a part of the Mahindra Transport Excellence Awards program held at Hotel Ashok. The areas of discussion were 'Global Road Transport Practice' and 'Role of Road Transport in Multimodal Transport Solutions'. The audience comprised of prominent truck fleets owners, transporters, logistics company heads, professionals, commercial vehicle financiers, dealers of commercial vehicles, and senior delegates from the transport sector, faculty members from IIM-Ahmedabad, delegates from the Mahindra Group, heads of various agencies and select media delegates. Mahindra Transport Excellence Awards was instituted in 2011. The objective of this award is to recognize purposeful contributions that have made a difference in the field of transport. The awards have met with great appreciation and acclaim from the transport community. Their mission is to continue to strengthen India's first ever 'Transport Ecosystem Awards'.

The Global Marketing Excellence Award
TCI has been awarded with 2 major awards-Award for Marketing Excellence – Supply Chain & Logistics Sector and the Award for Best in-house Magazine at the th Global Marketing Excellence Award at World Marketing Congress 2014 on 15 November, 2014 at Hotel Taj Lands End, Mumbai. The awards seek to recognize quality in marketing initiatives. TCI has been awarded for its in house magazine “Logistics Focus”, which takes up relevant issues critical to the SCM space. The magazine has a wide profile of readers as well as expert contributing authors which makes it a one of its kind of publication.

TCI Rebuilds houses in Uttarakhand
TCI has rebuilt houses and handed over the houses for the villagers of Ganganagar village in Rudraprayag after thevillage was destroyed in the after math of the floods in June 2013. Uttarakhand was witness to a major disaster when the rains struck and caused massive flooding in June 2013 resulting in unprecedented damage to life and property . As part of its CSR agenda, TCI provides Disaster Relief Assistance and was one of the first few corporate to reach the most hit areas and set up immediate relief camps . In the immediate aftermath of the floods, TCI set up a Relief camp near Bhadrakali Mandir, Rishikesh for offering preliminary help to victims by serving foods, bread, biscuits, water and medicines. Taking this further TCI adopted Ganganager Village in Rudraprayag for helping the victims whose houses were washed off in th the floods by undertaking construction of 5 houses which was successfully completed and on 24 May 2014 in the presence of Dr. Harak Singh Rawat Hon'ble Minister of Agriculture, Agriculture Education, Medical Education and Sainik welfare, Hon'ble Sri Rajendra Bhandari-Parliamentary secretary and Chairman of 20-point programme of Uttarakhand (Cabinet level), MLA-Kedarnath - Smt. Shaila Rani Rawat, Mandal Adhayksh and ADM-Rudraprayag and villagers handed over the keys of the newly constructed houses to the villagers. The officials and especially Dr. Rawat was so happy to see the quality of work and he would inform the Chief Minister about our work of construction of Houses and will request him to pay visit to see the work done by us. The villagers also expressed their heart -felt gratitude. Mr. AK Singh, Regional Head, Delhi, TCI Freight explained and informed the officials about the company and all social activities initiated by us throughout India including Leh and Uttarakhand. The event was also captured on all prominent media channels. In the past also, TCI has always pro-actively responded and rushed to offer immediate medical and food supplies in disaster hit areas. The rehabilitation work done in Leh with the rebuilding of houses in village Nimoo, after the cloudburst, has also been a trend setter as no other corporate offered this scale of help in these areas.

TCI Seaways Acquires New Ship
TCI Seaways has acquired a 4765 DWT tonnage ship and has named her TCI Lakshmi.The vessel was acquired on 28 April 2014 at port of Singapore. A get together was organized on the occasion by Mr DP Agarwal, VCMD, and many senior people of the shipping industry at Singapore attended the event. The vessel is 1997 European built and has a DWT of 4765 T at a draft of 5.91m. The vessel has two cranes of SWL 40 T each. She has a capacity to load 387 twenty foot containers. The vessel will add to the existing service at Chennai for Port Blair and provide more regular sailing. With this acquisition, TCI is taking forward its commitment to provide its customers cost effective multi-modal logistics services. TCI Seaways now has four ships in operations namely TCI SURYA, TCI XPS, TCI PRABHU and the newly acquired ship TCI Lakshmi.
